How do I get free solar panels?

If you are in housing association properties you are not eligible under the Green Homes funding scheme. The funding is based on your circumstances not those of your landlord, but you will need to discuss it with them before having any work carried out on the property.

How do solar thermal panels work?
Solar thermal panels are a very effective and simple way to get hot water using solar energy. They consist of a panel of tubes that capture solar energy from the sun to give you hot water.
The sun uses solar energy to heat the liquid stored in the tubes and then, once hot enough, transfers the water to your water cylinder where your hot water can be stored until you want to take a bath or shower. This system of water heating is very straightforward and saves you money.
For best results, we will fit your solar panels onto a south-facing roof, though they will work no matter what direction your roof faces. Solar panels can also be installed directly on the ground, but that can use up precious garden space.
